The aim of the Squidgie Series is to garner enough points to qualify for the Grand Final at the end of the season. Points are awarded at the conclusion of each of the sessions dependant upon where that team places. Points are earned by ALL teams, even those who do not weigh a fish.
There will be 20 teams at the Grand Final with the following breakdown:
First place from each qualifying round – 6 Teams
Leading point scorers (not including auto-qualifying teams) – 14 Teams
Points are to be awarded based on where the team places.

Who competes in the Grand Final will be determined by who has accumulated the most points and the auto-qualified teams.
If, for some reason, a top 20 qualifier team cannot attend the Grand Final, their position will be offered to the next highest point scorer outside the top 20 and so on until the 20 positions required can be filled.
The Grand Final will be a one day event the same as the preliminary rounds.
