Rigging your Squidgy straight is absolutely critical! A straight lure will swim naturally, as intended.
STEP 1 Once you’ve chosen a jig head and tail to suit the target species and conditions, lay the jig head along the tail, placing the nose of the Squidgy against the back of the head, and pin-point the exit point of the hook on top of the tail.
STEP 2 Push the hook point through the dead centre of the tail’s nose and keep the hook in the centre of the Squidgy as you feed it on, until it exits the mid-line of the tail at the point you identified in step 1.
STEP 3 Once the hook has cleared the tail, gently push the tail right up the hook and over the hook keeper, seating it firmly against the jig head.
STEP 4 Your Squidgy should not be bunched, bent or short of the jig head. If it’s straight like this, it’s ready to catch fish!
A couple of years ago, we decided to launch a more advanced version of
our popular Squidgies under the “Pro Range” banner. What we had in mind
involved picking the eyes out of our standard range to select the very
best and most widely-applicable tails, adding a few new designs, and
then settling on what we considered to be an “essential’ spread of
sizes and colours for each. That done, we planned to put more tails in
each pack to satisfy serious lure users, thus slightly reducing the
cost-per-unit and making Squidgies even more affordable than they
already were… But we knew we needed something else, as well. We needed
a “point of difference” that would place our Squidgy Pro Range head and
shoulders above anything else on offer in an already over-crowded soft
plastic market… That something special turned out to be S-Factor!
S-Factor is pretty amazing stuff. It’s a lot more than a scent additive
or a flavouring. It’s actually a cunning mix of attack and feeding
triggers tailored specifically to Australian fish (not carp or trout or
largemouth bass!), and it’s so damn good, it will make Aussie fish bite
things even when they aren’t hungry! Even more importantly, it makes
them try to swallow those things, and it urges them to come back again
and again to keep trying, even if those things are pulled out of their
mouths! S-Factor is so damn good that neither of us are happy to fish
without it on our lures these days… End of story.
We honestly believe that Squidgy Pro Range soft plastics combined with
S-Factor Attack Trigger Feeding Stimulant represents the most effective
system yet devised to catch predatory fish on rod and reel. This
combination regularly out-fishes live baits, and is racking up more
tournament wins than we could possibly list here. Don’t just take our
word for it… try it. But think twice about washing your hands in the
water with this stuff on your fingers!
